Key facts
- Yeading's pass rate was 52.8% in 2025/26 from 6,735 tests, 2.8 points above the national average of 50.0%.
- That puts it 5 of 24 centres in London (London average 49.1%), one of the higher pass rates in the region, 3.7 points above it.
- Since 2021/22 the pass rate has risen by 14.2 points, from 38.6% to 52.8%.
- Male candidates passed at 54% and female candidates at 50%, a gap of 4 points.
- On waiting times, learners who took a test in August 2026 had waited a median of 12.6 weeks since booking; the first week with 10% or more of slots still free was 23.4 weeks ahead.
- A year earlier (August 2025) the median wait was 7.1 weeks, so waits have grown by about 5.5 weeks.
Yeading has improved more than almost any centre in the country. The pass rate has risen fourteen points since 2021, from under forty per cent to over fifty, and it now ranks fifth of the 24 London centres. The site on Cygnet Way, off Willow Tree Lane, also runs lorry and bus tests, so it is a bigger and busier place than a car-only unit. The roads around it are slow. Sixty-seven per cent of those tagged nearby are 20 mph, with 27 mini-roundabouts and 61 sets of traffic signals inside two and a half kilometres. Four of the five practice loops on this page still run over eleven kilometres and reach Ruislip Road, so the test does not stay in the estates.

The same access also opens the four test manoeuvres and eight roundabout scenarios: the two things a route drive cannot teach you.
Two-thirds of the roads tagged around Yeading are 20 mph and only sixteen per cent are 30. That is slow even by London standards, and 44 schools inside the radius explain a good deal of it. But fifteen per cent of the roads carry a 40 limit, which is high, and there is dual carriageway in range. The gap between that and a residential 20 is as wide as anything the test asks you to cross.
The practice loops on this page are long for a London centre, four of the five over eleven kilometres, and three of them run their main stretch along Ruislip Road. That road is the spine of the test: busy, signal-controlled in places, with side turnings and bus stops on it. Uxbridge Road, The Parkway and Lady Margaret Road take a similar load.
Roundabouts feature more than the named list suggests. Only five conventional ones sit in the area, at Islip Manor Road, Armstrong Way, Brent Road, Glencoe Road and Yeading Lane, but the loops carry between five and nine roundabouts each, because 27 mini-roundabouts fill the residential streets. Signal for the exit and keep off the paint. Those two habits account for most of what gets lost at a mini-roundabout.
With 61 sets of traffic signals in the area, a good share of the junction work is controlled, and one loop holds twelve right turns.
Manoeuvres go on the estate roads off Willow Tree Lane, Carlyle Avenue and Brookside Road among them, where limits are 20, kerbs are straight and parking is heavy enough to make a pull-up on the right worth doing properly.

Test day at Yeading
The centre is on Cygnet Way, off Willow Tree Lane. It is a vehicle testing site rather than a small office unit, because DVSA runs lorry and bus tests here alongside car tests, so expect a yard with large vehicles in it and follow the signs for cars.
Nothing is published about wheelchair access or other arrangements. If you need step-free entry, or anything agreed in advance, ring the centre before the day rather than assuming a modern site will suit.
Parking is not published, though a site laid out for lorry and bus testing usually has more room than a shopfront centre. Treat that as a reasonable expectation rather than a confirmed one and still leave a few minutes.
Southall station is a little over two kilometres away, so coming by train means a bus or a half-hour walk at the other end. Most candidates arrive with an instructor.
Get there ten minutes before your slot. The examiner calls you by name, checks your licence and asks you to sign the declaration confirming the car is insured for the test, then does the eyesight check outside.
Tests are booked, moved and cancelled only through GOV.UK. The wait has grown by around six weeks over the past year, so book further ahead than you once would have needed to.
