Rush hour driving practice in 3D.
Rush hour driving practice is a drive through dense, queuing city traffic, the kind of driving that is hard to practise safely. In the PassRank app it runs on real streets in 8 cities, with buses, crossings and junctions that fill up, and you are marked on how you handle it.

How rush hour practice works
- Open the app and go to the Drive tab, then choose Rush hour.
- Pick a city. The drives for your own country come first.
- Drive in dense traffic: queue at the lights, wait for gaps, keep crossings and junctions clear.
- Get marked on signals, junctions, speed and lane position, plus stopping on a crossing or in a junction in a queue. Then replay and change one thing.
The roads, junctions and speed limits come from OpenStreetMap. The simulator switches to the side of the road and the units of the country you pick. It marks you like an examiner would on signals, speed and junctions; it does not copy an official driving test route.
Prefer to learn the test itself first? See the roundabout types, the test manoeuvres and the routes around your own test centre.
Questions
- What is rush hour driving practice?
- Practice in dense, queuing traffic: buses, cyclists, crossings and junctions that fill up. In the PassRank app it is a drive on real streets with simulated rush hour traffic, marked the way an examiner would mark a test.
- Which cities can I practise in?
- London, Manchester, Birmingham, Dublin, New York, Vancouver, Istanbul, Dubai. Sydney is coming soon, once the New South Wales street data is ready.
- Is it only for learners taking a driving test?
- No. New drivers, people returning to driving and people moving to a new city use it to get used to busy traffic without a real queue behind them.
- Is the rush hour practice free?
- The app is free to download. Full access, including rush hour drives, is an in-app purchase on the App Store and Google Play, with a 3-day free trial in the stores. There is no free trial on the website.
