- That puts it 17 of 24 centres in London (London average 49.1%), one of the lower pass rates in the region, 2.3 points below it.
- The rate has been stable since 2021/22, moving between 43.3% (2023/24) and 46.8% (2024/25).
- Male candidates passed at 48.6% and female candidates at 44.1%, a gap of 4.5 points.
- On waiting times, learners who took a test in August 2026 had waited a median of 12.6 weeks since booking; the first week with 10% or more of slots still free was 24 weeks ahead.
- A year earlier (August 2025) the median wait was 5 weeks, so waits have grown by about 7.6 weeks.
Wood Green is about as close to a blanket 20 mph test as London offers. Of the roads within two and a half kilometres of the centre that carry a limit, 84 per cent are 20 mph and only about one in eight is a 30. Speed discipline is not one element of the test here. It is the background to all of it.
The centre shares its address with Wood Green Crown Court on Lordship Lane, a few minutes from Wood Green station on the Piccadilly line. The pass rate of 46.8 per cent sits below the national average and 17th of the 24 London centres, and it has been flat for four years rather than moving in either direction.
One thing worth knowing before you book: Tottenham is two kilometres away, passes slightly more candidates and has a shorter wait.

The same access also opens the four test manoeuvres and eight roundabout scenarios: the two things a route drive cannot teach you.
The road counts for Wood Green describe the area within two and a half kilometres of the centre rather than the loops themselves, and the gap between the two is worth understanding. The area holds 37 mini-roundabouts and 110 signal-controlled junctions. The practice loops on this page barely touch a roundabout at all: four of the five contain none and the fifth has two. What the loops are made of instead is turns, more than a hundred of them across 50 km.
That makes this a junction test. Right turns across oncoming traffic on Green Lanes, Lordship Lane and High Road come round again and again, and because give-ways rather than roundabouts control most of them, you are the one judging every gap, for the whole test.
The other thing to know about High Road is that it is the A105 and it carries bus lanes, camera-enforced, along much of its length. They catch drivers who drift left early to set up a turn.
There are 89 schools in the area, among the highest counts anywhere in London, and two level crossings. Speeds stay low throughout, with 84 per cent of the limited roads at 20 mph. Getting the car down to 20 and holding it there, rather than easing back up whenever the road clears, is the thing the examiner will watch most.
White Hart Lane, West Green Road, Westbury Avenue, Station Road and Mayes Road fill out the rest of the driving.

Test day at Wood Green
The address is the first thing to get straight. The centre is at Woodhall House on Lordship Lane, on the same site as Wood Green Crown Court, so you are looking for a court building rather than a shopfront with a DVSA sign. Nothing I could find documents court-style security or screening for driving test candidates, so treat that as undocumented rather than assuming it either way.
Parking on site is limited. Two independent listings agree on that and neither names an overflow street, which is the usual position for a London centre on a main road. If you drive yourself, expect to find a space on a side road and walk back.
A waiting room is described consistently and toilets are confirmed by two sources. Wheelchair access is the one thing sources genuinely disagree on: some describe step-free access, at least one says there is none. Ring the centre if you need it rather than finding out on the morning.
Car tests only are listed here. Wood Green station is four hundred metres away on the Piccadilly line, and buses stop outside at a stop named after the Crown Court, so this is one of the easier London centres to reach without a car. Booking, moving and cancelling a test is done through GOV.UK.
