Key facts
- Enfield's pass rate was 53.9% in 2025/26 from 8,412 tests, 3.9 points above the national average of 50.0%.
- That puts it 2 of 24 centres in London (London average 49.1%), one of the higher pass rates in the region, 4.8 points above it.
- Since 2021/22 the pass rate has risen by 7.6 points, from 46.3% to 53.9%.
- On waiting times, learners who took a test in August 2026 had waited a median of 20 weeks since booking (longer than the national median of 11.9 weeks); the first week with 10% or more of slots still free was 24 weeks ahead.
- A year earlier (August 2025) the median wait was 14.4 weeks, so waits have grown by about 5.6 weeks.
- 40.7% of the standard slots in the booking window were still unbooked in August 2026, which usually means a cancellation or new date is realistic here.
Enfield's Innova Park centre has one of the highest pass rates in London and a waiting time that has roughly doubled in a year. Both are worth planning around. The test starts among the wide, empty roads of a business park, Solar Way, Innova Way and Velocity Way, then drops onto Mollison Avenue, which is dual carriageway and moves.
Over a third of the roads tagged within a mile and a half of the centre are 40 mph, a quarter are 30 and a quarter are 20, and switching cleanly between them is the thing to practise. The loops run north along Hertford Road and Eleanor Cross Road, so a single test can hold estate streets, a High Street and fast dual carriageway. Enfield Lock station is under a kilometre away.

The same access also opens the four test manoeuvres and eight roundabout scenarios: the two things a route drive cannot teach you.
Mollison Avenue is the road that defines this test. It is dual carriageway, it moves, and one of the practice loops on this page runs a long stretch of it. Joining at the speed of the traffic already there, holding the lane, then losing that speed again for the slip road is the sequence that decides a lot of Enfield tests. Practise it in traffic rather than on a quiet Sunday morning.
The rest is a mix. Over a third of the roads tagged within a mile and a half of the centre are 40 mph, a quarter are 30 and a quarter are 20, and the loops move between all three. Hertford Road and the High Street give the slow, congested driving: buses, side turnings close together, parked cars and pedestrians stepping out. Eleanor Cross Road takes the loops north.
Signals are dense for a centre on the edge of the city. Thirty-nine sets sit in the area the loops cover, along with fourteen mini-roundabouts and three level crossings. That combination means a lot of stopping and starting, and the faults it produces are creeping over stop lines and rolling into a mini-roundabout while still looking right.
The business park roads at the start, Solar Way, Innova Way, Velocity Way and Monarchs Way, are wide and often empty. They are the easiest driving of the test and the easiest place to be careless, and observation and signalling are marked there exactly as they are on Hertford Road. Manoeuvres are usually set on the quieter residential streets. Twenty-eight schools sit in the area, so an afternoon slot brings the school run with it.

Test day at Enfield
The centre is on Solar Way at Innova Park Business Centre, an estate of near-identical units, so the block matters more than the street name. Give yourself a minute to find it rather than arriving with none to spare.
GOV.UK publishes no accessibility line for Innova Park. If you use a wheelchair or need arrangements made for a disability, ask DVSA before the day rather than assuming. Nothing is published about candidate parking or the waiting room either. Business park units normally have marked bays somewhere on the estate rather than outside the door, which is typical rather than confirmed here.
The centre runs a wide set of tests: car, motorcycle module 1 off-road and module 2 on-road, and ADI part 2 and ADI part 3. Tests are booked, moved and cancelled only through GOV.UK.
Enfield Lock station is about eight hundred metres away, which makes arriving by train and walking realistic. Ten minutes before your slot is early enough. The examiner calls you by name, checks your licence and asks you to sign the declaration confirming the car is insured for the test. The eyesight check is done outside on the estate before you get in.
