Key facts
- Belvedere's pass rate was 40.5% in 2025/26 from 4,245 tests, 9.5 points below the national average of 50.0%.
- That puts it 23 of 24 centres in London (London average 49.1%), one of the lower pass rates in the region, 8.6 points below it.
- Since 2021/22 the pass rate has risen by 9.4 points, from 31.1% to 40.5%.
- Male candidates passed at 43.2% and female candidates at 36.1%, a gap of 7.1 points, wider than at most centres.
- On waiting times, learners who took a test in August 2026 had waited a median of 9.4 weeks since booking (shorter than the national median of 11.9 weeks); the first week with 10% or more of slots still free was 24 weeks ahead.
- 27.2% of the standard slots in the booking window were still unbooked in August 2026, which usually means a cancellation or new date is realistic here.
Belvedere passes 40.5 per cent of its candidates, 290th of the 302 centres ranked and 23rd of the 24 in London. It is climbing fast — 31.1 per cent in 2021/22 against 40.5 now, a rise of 9.4 points — but it remains one of the harder places in the country to pass. The practice loops on this page are roundabout country: fourteen named roundabouts and eight mini-roundabouts across fifty-four kilometres, with only six sets of traffic signals on the whole set. Erith is two and a half kilometres away and passes 51.6 per cent, which is worth weighing before you book.

The same access also opens the four test manoeuvres and eight roundabout scenarios: the two things a route drive cannot teach you.
Fourteen named roundabouts sit on these loops: Bedonwell Road, Belmont Road, Long Lane, Brampton Road, McLeod Road, Picardy Manorway, Yarnton Way, Lower Road, Nuxley Road, Little Heath Road, Cumberland Drive, Eastern Way, Bronze Age Way and Bexley Road. Eight mini-roundabouts go with them, and four of the five practice loops on this page carry six or more.
For a London centre the lights are remarkably sparse — six sets of traffic signals and six signalled crossings on the whole set, against eleven zebra crossings. Most of the pedestrian priority here is painted rather than lit, which is a different reading job: nothing tells you in advance that somebody is about to step out.
Twenty-three give-way junctions and twenty-seven pieces of traffic calming fill in the rest. One loop is the odd one out: a single roundabout in eight and a half kilometres, with fifteen right turns to make up for it.
Speeds are steady — eighty per cent of the distance at 30 mph, twelve per cent at 50 and eight per cent at 20. There is a dual-carriageway section, and the A206, A207, A209, A220, A2000 and A2041 all appear, along with the B250.
Bedonwell Road, Woolwich Road, Picardy Manorway, Albert Road, Lower Road, Nuxley Road, Long Lane, Picardy Road, Brook Street, Bedwell Road, Brampton Road and De Lucy Street carry most of the driving. There are no level crossings, and sixty-one schools in the area.

Test day at Belvedere
The centre is at 33 Woolwich Road, DA17 5EE. Car tests and ADI parts 2 and 3 run from here. DVSA says it will make arrangements at this test centre for candidates with a disability, so ask when you book rather than on the day.
Belvedere station is 1.2 kilometres away.
Nothing is published about parking. Woolwich Road is a main road through a residential area, so treat the side streets as the plan.
Waits are short by London standards. A median of 9.4 weeks for tests taken in July 2026, against 11.9 weeks across Great Britain, and seven weeks here a year earlier. The first week with a tenth of its appointments still free was twenty-four weeks out.
The comparison to make is Erith, two and a half kilometres away. It passes 51.6 per cent against Belvedere's 40.5 and was waiting seven weeks — better on both counts, for a journey most candidates here could make. Sidcup passes 58.7 per cent but was waiting 17.9 weeks. Goodmayes is 43.7 per cent at twenty-one weeks.
One local pattern: men passed at 43.2 per cent and women at 36.1, a gap of 7.1 points that is wider than at most centres. Tests are booked, moved and cancelled only through GOV.UK.
