Key facts
- Redhill Aerodrome's pass rate was 53.9% in 2025/26 from 5,408 tests, 3.9 points above the national average of 50.0%.
- That puts it 14 of 30 centres in South East (South East average 52.9%), a mid-table pass rates in the region.
- The rate has been stable since 2021/22, moving between 48% (2023/24) and 55% (2021/22).
- On waiting times, learners who took a test in August 2026 had waited a median of 10 weeks since booking; the first week with 10% or more of slots still free was 24 weeks ahead.
- 30.2% of the standard slots in the booking window were still unbooked in August 2026, which usually means a cancellation or new date is realistic here.
Redhill Aerodrome passes 53.9 per cent of its candidates, 115th of the 302 centres ranked and fourteenth of the thirty in the South East. The practice loops on this page are unlike almost any other centre's. There is not one roundabout on them, not one set of traffic signals, and not one crossing of any kind. Forty-nine per cent of the distance is at 70 mph on ordinary single-carriageway lanes, and another forty-six per cent is at 30. A test here is country driving: reading a lane whose end you cannot see, and turning right out of one into another.

The same access also opens the four test manoeuvres and eight roundabout scenarios: the two things a route drive cannot teach you.
There are no roundabouts on these loops. No mini-roundabouts either, no traffic signals, no signalled crossings and no zebras. Across five practice loops and fifty kilometres there is one give-way junction and three pieces of traffic calming. For a centre in Surrey that is close to extraordinary, and it tells you what the examiner is actually going to be watching.
What replaces all of that is speed and lane craft. Forty-nine per cent of the distance is at 70 mph, and there is no dual carriageway anywhere on the set — so the 70 is national-limit country road, single carriageway, with hedges and bends. Forty-six per cent is at 30 and four per cent at 40.
The turning is right-handed. One loop holds fifteen right turns against five lefts; another thirteen against four. Emerging right from a lane onto a fast road, over and over, is the skill this centre tests, and it is the one that is hardest to practise in a town.
Kings Mill Lane, Kings Cross Lane, Crab Hill Lane, Green Lane, Masons Bridge Road, Moats Lane, Prince of Wales Road, Axes Lane, Coopers Hill Road and Kings Mead carry the whole set. No A-roads appear on the loops. There is one level crossing in the area and five schools.

Test day at Redhill Aerodrome
The centre is on the first floor of the Redhill Aerodrome Business Centre, Kings Mill Lane, RH1 5JZ. Car tests and ADI parts 2 and 3 run from here.
Nutfield station is 1.3 kilometres away. This is a working aerodrome on the edge of town, and most people arrive by car.
Nothing is published about parking or about step-free access, and the centre is on the first floor, so ring ahead if stairs are a problem.
Waits have grown, but they are not the worst in the region. A median of ten weeks for tests taken in July 2026, against 11.9 weeks across Great Britain, and 7.4 weeks here a year earlier. The first week with a tenth of its appointments still free was twenty-four weeks out.
Crawley is sixteen kilometres away, waits 10.4 weeks and passes 42.7 per cent. Mitcham is about the same distance at 47 per cent, Morden a little further at 51. On both waiting time and pass rate, staying here is the sensible choice.
