Key facts
- Bletchley's pass rate was 51.5% in 2025/26 from 9,415 tests, 1.5 points above the national average of 50.0%.
- That puts it 19 of 30 centres in South East (South East average 52.9%), a mid-table pass rates in the region.
- Since 2021/22 the pass rate has risen by 4.7 points, from 46.8% to 51.5%.
- On waiting times, learners who took a test in August 2026 had waited a median of 14.6 weeks since booking (longer than the national median of 11.9 weeks); the first week with 10% or more of slots still free was 24 weeks ahead.
- A year earlier (August 2025) the median wait was 17.7 weeks, so waits have shortened by about 3.1 weeks.
- 34.3% of the standard slots in the booking window were still unbooked in August 2026, which usually means a cancellation or new date is realistic here.
Bletchley is a Milton Keynes test, and Milton Keynes is built on a grid. The practice loops on this page use V7 Saxon Street, V4 Watling Street and H10 Bletcham Way, the numbered grid roads that carry traffic across the city, and the grid joins itself almost entirely by roundabout. There are 16 mini-roundabouts on the loops and nine larger named ones, among them Roman Roundabout. The busiest loop takes in eleven roundabouts in under seven miles, and the shortest still has six. If you have learned somewhere roundabouts are occasional, this is a different test. Lane choice on the approach, and holding that lane round to the exit, is most of what gets marked.

The same access also opens the four test manoeuvres and eight roundabout scenarios: the two things a route drive cannot teach you.
Everything on the practice loops on this page is shaped by two things: the grid roads and the mini-roundabouts.
The grid roads are the fast part. V7 Saxon Street, V4 Watling Street and H10 Bletcham Way run between roundabouts at 40, 50 and in places higher, with long sightlines and traffic already moving quickly when you join. About one part in five of the loop distance is above 30 mph. Three quarters of it is 30, on Buckingham Road, Church Green Road, Whaddon Way, Newton Road and the residential streets off them.
The mini-roundabouts are where the marking happens. There are 16 of them on the loops against nine full-sized named ones, and they come at estate junctions where the visibility is short and the give-way line arrives sooner than you expect.
Worth drilling before a Bletchley test:
- Approach lane on a two-lane roundabout, chosen early off the sign rather than late off the paint.
- Mini-roundabouts in series, where the exit of one is the give-way line of the next.
- Joining a grid road from a roundabout and reaching the speed of the traffic inside the distance you are given.
- The level crossing on the loops, which wants the same discipline as any other stop line: slow early, look, and never stop on it.
There are 11 zebra crossings and 15 traffic calming features on the loops as well, and 28 schools in the area. Between the roundabouts, this is a test full of things asking you to slow down, and the fault that comes of that is arriving at the next roundabout still braking.

Test day at Bletchley
The centre is Block 4 of the Government Buildings on Wilton Avenue. It is a block on a government site rather than a shop unit, so you are looking for the block number once you are on the site rather than a sign from the street.
You can access this test centre if you use a wheelchair. That is published, which is more than most centres manage, so you do not have to ring and ask. DVSA runs car tests, motorcycle module 2 on the road, and ADI parts 2 and 3, which makes the site busier than a car-only centre and means there may be motorcycle candidates going out at the same time as you.
Bletchley station is about half a kilometre away, near enough to walk. That is unusual for a test centre and it makes this a realistic one to reach without an instructor, though most candidates still arrive with one.
Parking and waiting facilities are not published. Allow a few minutes to find a space on the site rather than counting on one by the door, which is what is typical for a unit of this kind.
The median wait was under fifteen weeks in July, about three weeks shorter than a year earlier. Tests are booked, moved and cancelled only through GOV.UK.
